RCMP & Federal Policing Reform

Note how 2 Deputy Ministers, an Associate Deputy Ministers and the Commissioner is CC'd in this letter. Deputy Ministers are Agency Heads in Canada! Dominic Leblanc, the Minister who issued this letter is currently the President of the King's Privy Council of Canada.

Until January 2015, the RCMP were prohibited by law to form a union.  The SCC declared the ban unconstitutional. Now, we're seeing major changes creeping up while other police boards unionize and form their respective associations.

At present, the Ontario Provincial Police Association has a credit union and appears to have varying  'economic advantages' for members. I'll continue to learn more about the OPPA and other police boards & associations and share what I learn but for now, the OPPA's objectives are enough to generate concern from my point of view.

These police service boards, associations and federations throughout Canada, from my perspective, require urgent scrutiny by the liberty-minded individuals & reform groups!
